Shiffrin clearly leads the overall World Cup before the races in Salzburg after five wins this season with 929 points, ahead of Petra Vlhova (SVK/722) and Federica Brignone (ITA/697).
“I’m definitely disappointed to have to miss Zauchensee because it was a big goal of mine to ride the track again – it’s such a cool combination of fun and challenge – but I’m not able to do that at the moment to attack,” explained the American, who now has 93 World Cup victories.
