BVB sports director Zorc: That’s why the paint transfer is stalling

Borussia Dortmund has been in agreement with the player for a long time, but the transfer cannot be announced yet. Sports director Zorc explains why.

The transfer of Donyell Malen from PSV Eindhoven to Borussia Dortmund is still pending on the transfer request from the Dutch. This was confirmed by BVB sports director Michael Zorc den Ruhr news. Accordingly, the ideas of the two clubs are so far apart that Zorc is considering breaking off the negotiations.

According to the newspaper, Dortmund and the striker have long agreed on a move, but Eindhoven called for a transfer fee of 30 million euros for the 22-year-old. Too much for BVB: “It has to be a sensible decision. It has to fit financially, otherwise you have to say no,” warned Zorc.

BVB wants to invest the Sancho million

He expects the Dutch to abandon their demand so that Malen can go to the BVB training camp in Switzerland on Friday. “Of course it would be good for the coach if we could implement something before the training camp. But things are not always in our own hands,” he said.

Dortmund assume that Manchester United will process and announce the commitment of BVB star Jadon Sancho this week. With part of the associated transfer fee of 85 million euros, BVB wants to strengthen itself, even if Malen as an attacker is not a substitute for the winger Sancho.
