He is an Olympic ski jumping champion, former national coach, successful author and an absolute cult figure in the Austrian sports scene. Toni Innauer will reveal his best tips and tricks next Thursday at the traditional kick-off event for the 22nd Linz Donau Marathon in the Oberbank Donau-Forum. He will then answer questions in a live talk with Susanne Gogl-Walli, the Linz local hero and regular starter at the 2024 Olympics, and OÖN presenter Karoline Ploberger.
Whether it’s about more exercise, a healthier diet or more restful sleep: the trained sports scientist gets to the bottom of the well-known problem of why good resolutions are quickly made, but all too often come to nothing. Under the motto “Marathon or Olympic victory, always preceded by a good resolution”, he analyzes the deeply human resistance that is responsible for it exclusively live in front of the audience at the start of the Linz marathon season and summarizes tips and practical tricks that can help big promise: to start a new life.
The legendary “ÖSV Super Eagle” systematically searches through all areas of life, analyzes human weaknesses and pitfalls and provides guidance on how to make wishes, dreams and resolutions come true. “Whenever we plan something special, it should be carefully considered so that we have enough time, anticipation, energy, creativity and perseverance on board. And then at the crucial moment you must not forget to keep a cool head and do your best and to enjoy it all when the time comes,” the Vorarlberg native is convinced. After the official program he will be available for a book signing in the foyer.
27-year-old Gogl-Walli, who set her 400-meter best time to 50.87 seconds in 2023 and is currently preparing for the Olympic Games in Paris, also knows the importance of good resolutions. “There are two big events coming up in the summer, Paris and the European Championships in Rome, where I want to show my best performance.”

The Linz Marathon has already focused particularly on the responsible use of resources and environmental protection aspects. This year the aim is to organize all competitions according to the criteria of the Austrian Ecolabel for Green Events. The start of these efforts is the certification of the kick-off event.
With the right nutrition things go even better
With Toni Innauer, the already traditional kick-off once again features a top-class speaker. But the Oberbank Donau Forum also has excellent culinary provisions. Sponsor Fattoria La Vialla, who will also be providing the pasta party at the Marathon Expo in April with his high-quality organic Demeter products from Tuscany, will be showcasing his products.
There will also be a wine and sparkling wine tasting. The Brau Union supplies Zipfer beer, the Frankenmarkter company supplies mineral water and Schartner bombs. And the popular Marathonweckerl from the Fischer Brot company can already be tasted. Food and drink is free. Registration for the kick-off event online at www.linzmarathon.at
