Luke Littler made darts history just over two weeks after his sensational entry into the World Cup final. Two days before his 17th birthday, the British teenager hit a nine-darter at the Bahrain Masters.
Littler made the perfect leg in the quarter-final against his compatriot Nathan Aspinall. He is the youngest player to achieve the perfect leg in front of TV cameras. He scored 501 points with just nine arrows.
When Littler had done it, he spread his arms and looked at the roaring audience, laughing. His opponent, who was also beaten in the end, applauded with respect before congratulating Littler with a hug at the Masters at the Bahrain International Circuit. At the age of not quite 18, former world champion Michael van Gerwen from the Netherlands was the youngest professional to achieve the perfect leg. That was 2007.
