NBA: Clippers turn 18-point deficit – Wagner makes comeback

With world champion Daniel Theis, the Los Angeles Clippers are far behind in the final quarter against the Brooklyn Nets – and still win. There is a successful comeback in Orlando.

The Orlando Magic won against the Miami Heat during Franz Wagner’s comeback and showed their best NBA game in weeks.

At 105:87, Wagner scored 19 points after missing eight games due to an ankle injury. It was the first time in two and a half months that the team from Orlando, which had started the season so strongly, was able to play with all its regulars again. “I missed that, for sure,” said Wagner after the success. “We did a good job all night securing the ball and getting rebounds.” Wagner’s brother Moritz played eleven minutes and scored eight points.

Previously, the Los Angeles Clippers with Wagner’s world champion colleague Daniel Theis had turned their home game against the Brooklyn Nets after a long deficit and won their 27th win of the season. In Los Angeles there was a 125:114 in the strongest basketball league in the world. The guests were still leading by 18 points in the final quarter before a 22-0 run and 14 of Kawhi Leonard’s 21 points in the last quarter alone turned the game around. Theis contributed eight points and three rebounds. Nets professional Mikael Bridges was the most successful scorer of the game with 26 points, but could not prevent the 25th defeat of the season.
