The game in Mainz is scheduled to take place in the early evening (6.30 p.m./DAZN), as the German Football League (DFL) announced. Last Friday, the start of the second half of the season could not take place as planned due to the winter weather conditions and the associated safety risks in the stadium.
The DFL also benefits from the fact that both clubs have already been eliminated from the DFB Cup. The cup quarter-finals between 1. FC Saarbrücken and Borussia Mönchengladbach are also on the program on February 7th. This game will kick off at 8:45 p.m. in the evening. Both Mainz and Union are in a relegation battle in the league.
