The OÖN had already reported about the upcoming contract extension days ago, now it’s fixed: The 19-year-old midfielder Jonas Mayer, who, like Arjan Malic, was trained at the Rieder Football Academy, will stay in the Innviertel until 2026.

“Jonas Mayer is another academy player who has attracted attention from the professionals over the past six months. We are happy that Jonas also sees his future in Ried and are sure that he will develop very well with us will,” emphasizes SVR sports director Wolfgang Fiala.
“My goal at SV Guntamatic Ried is to play my way into the team and collect as many playing minutes as possible. And I want to help the team as best as possible so that we achieve our big goal of promotion to the Bundesliga,” says Jonas Mayer. In the autumn, the Salzburg player made 15 competitive appearances – 13 of them with the professional team.
Left-back becomes more specific
According to Mayer, another move could soon be reported: The Vikings are in talks with a man for the left defensive wing, as sports director Wolfgang Fiala reveals: “It’s becoming more concrete. I hope that we can announce something in the coming days.”
Something could also happen on the departure side: As reported, Nikola Stosic and Marc Schmerböck did not travel to the training camp in Catez with the Rieder professional team because they no longer play a role in the Innviertler’s plans. The latter is currently on trial training in the south: with the Spanish third division club Gimnàstic de Tarragona.
