As a result, the Slovenians secured third place in the group and are Austria’s possible opponents in the game for fifth place in the European Championship on Friday. The ÖHB team has to win against Iceland on Wednesday in order to maintain its chance of reaching the semi-finals or to move into the match for fifth place. The opponent in the semifinals, for which Germany and Hungary are also fighting, would be the top favorite Denmark. The other semi-final will be contested by defending champions Sweden and France, the winner of the Austria group.
