Second in the classification is the Manchester City English (826 million euros or 899 million dollars) and third the Paris Saint-Germain (802 million euros or 873 million dollars).
The twenty strongest clubs financially recorded a record accumulated turnover of 10.5 billion euros ($10.896 million), an increase of 14% compared to the previous season.
This increase is fueled by records in ticket sales (1.9 billion euros or 2.07 billion dollars) and merchandising sales (4.4 billion euros or 4.794 million dollars). According to Deloitte, football fans have returned en masse to stadiums after the health restrictions in force during the covid-19 pandemic.
On the other hand, income received from television broadcasting rights stagnated.
More generally, the study highlights a relationship between the performance of clubs and their financial results, as illustrated by the case of Liverpool, which went from third to seventh place in the standings, after having been only fifth in the last Premier League.
Other cases, such as those of Real Madrid and PSG, rely especially on commercial results for their position in the ranking.
