Spartak beat Polish Legia and reached the 1/8 finals of the Europa League

Moscow Spartak beat Polish Legia in the final round of the UEFA Champions League group stage. Thus, the Russians went directly to the 1/8 finals of the Europa League.

The only goal in the 17th minute was scored by Zelimkhan Bakaev, writes Sport-Express.

At the same time, the added time goalkeeper of “Spartak” Alexander Selikhov saved his team, reflecting a penalty from Tomas Pekhart.

The game did not go without incident. After the hosts missed a goal, Legia fans began throwing garbage and shouting Russophobic chants at the Russians.

Earlier, in September, the match of the first round of the Europa League group stage ended with a score of 0: 1. Legia footballers scored a goal against Spartak in the 91st minute. The goal was scored by the guests’ midfielder Lirim Kastrati.

After that, Legia made a joke at the Russian Spartak. The following entries appeared on Twitter of the Polish club: “From Russia with love”, “Muscovites already know that we are back”, “And one more time”, “Extra time: we know, we love.”
