The government of Javier Milei appointed Franco Berlina 25-year-old student with no experience in fighting against barrabravaslike the new Director of Security at National Sports Events.
The choice of Berlin, a law student at the University of Business and Social Sciences, represents a significant commitment by the minister Patricia Bullrichwho selected him among other more experienced candidates.
“Tapia knew how Scaloni worked, Patricia knows how I work”said the young man.
In an interview, Berlin assured that he “wants to change the fan-bar model and transform football into a safe space”, leaving behind the association with insecurity.
Although he acknowledged that some look at him “out of the corner of their eye” due to his youth and lack of experience, Berlin insisted that “age is not a limitation” and that he has the support of Patricia Bullrich.
When asked about his position regarding the barrabravas, Berlin stressed that “he does not plan to maintain contact with them and that he will not apply an arbitrary policy regarding the right of admission.”
Under his direction, the Safe Tribune program, responsible for determining who can enter stadiums, will focus on those with legal cases for violence in football.
In addition, controls will be implemented on fans’ buses and an Interjurisdictional Coordination Unit will be established to coordinate operations in different districts.
Berlin also mentioned the collaboration with the Federal Police Communications System to incorporate the 70,000 fugitives with an active arrest warrant in Argentina into the Secure Tribune database, with the aim of preventing them from entering the stadiums.

Regarding the preparation for the Copa América in the United States, Berlin assured that “they are already working to coordinate with local authorities” and “offer the list of fans with the right of admission.”
