Moscow “Lokomotiv” lost to French “Marseille” in the match of the sixth round of the group stage of the Europa League. This was reported on Friday, December 10, by the Sport-Express newspaper.
The match took place at the Velodrome stadium in Marseille and ended in a 0: 1 victory for the home team.
The only goal in the 35th minute was scored by the Frenchman Arkadiusz Milik. He just shot his head after a pass from a corner from Cengiz Yunder.
In the 80th minute, the hosts were in the minority. Valentin Rongier received the second yellow card and was forced to leave the field.
Thus, Lokomotiv gains two points and occupies the last, fourth, place in the group, stopping performances in the European cups of the 2021/22 season. Marseille have seven points and a third position. The team will play in the Conference League.
Earlier on Thursday, Spartak Moscow beat Polish Legia directly into the 1/8 finals of the Europa League. The only goal in the 17th minute was scored by Zelimkhan Bakaev.
