Sunday, January 28th, placement games and finals
The German team reached the semi-finals of the European Handball Championship in their own country, but failed against Denmark. Now the Germans will play against Sweden for third place this Sunday afternoon. France and Denmark will play the final in the evening.
The DHB selection last won the title at the European Men’s Handball Championship in 2016. The team around national coach Alfred Gislason’s plan to write a winter fairy tale in their own country this year failed on Friday due to the overpowering Danes, against whom the DHB selection was even in the lead for a time.
There is great enthusiasm for sport in this country. The German team’s games were all broadcast on free TV, either on ARD or ZDF.
