Despite the reduction, Darmanin He assured that “the opening ceremony will continue as initially planned.”

The Paris Police Prefecture recently stated that the final number of spectators would be confirmed “in the spring” based on the terrorist threat.

The ceremony is planned to be held along six kilometers of the Seine river, from the Austerlitz bridge to the Jena bridge, and 115 boats will be in charge of transporting the different delegations of athletes, in the presence of heads of state and government from around the world.

The French government plans to mobilize 30,000 police and gendarmes for the Games, a number that may increase to 45,000 for the opening ceremony.
