“Due to unfavorable weather conditions during the day, the issue of postponing the match to a reserve date was really discussed. As a result, the decision to hold the meeting will be made tomorrow by the delegate at the VEB Arena stadium in the presence of two teams. Also, at the moment, the stadium is undergoing technical work to correct the deficiencies identified by the results of the meeting with Zenit. In this regard, the CSKA-Arsenal match will be held without spectators, ”the CSKA press service said.
On the same day, the head of the RPL Ashot Khachaturyants said in a letter to the general director of football CSKA Roman Babaev that, taking into account the “expected ambient temperature at the start of the match -18 degrees”, it was decided to postpone the meeting to another date.
Khachaturyants’ letter published by the head of the Match + agency Vasily Konov in Telegram also says that the RPL will inform about the new date of the meeting additionally.
It is clarified that CSKA and Arsenal should enter the field on December 11 at 16:30 Moscow time.
Earlier that day, Tatyana Pozdnyakova, the chief specialist of the Moscow meteorological office, warned Muscovites about the temperature drop to –24 degrees on Saturday, December 11.
On December 11, the thermometer will reach -13 degrees in a number of districts of the capital, and in the Moscow region, a temperature drop of up to -16 degrees is expected, Pozdnyakova specified.
It is noted that on Sunday, December 12, the weather will also be rainless, but more cloudy. At night, the air temperature will be –10 …– 12 degrees, the region may drop to –14 …– 16 degrees.
