The winner of the Battle of Champions 13: School versus School martial arts forum was announced, which ended at the Luzhniki Sports Palace in Moscow. This was announced on Friday, December 10, by the REN TV channel.
It was the two-time world champion in sambo Aslanbek Kodzaev, who in the final in 30 seconds, by a choke hold, won a landslide victory over Alexander Dmitrenko, the world champion in kickboxing.
It is noted that the winner of the tournament, Kodzaev, was awarded a cash prize of 3 million rubles.
Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Russia Sergei Kiriyenko congratulated the champion and all the participants of the tournament.
“Thanks to the fighters, thanks to the coaches! But the main thing is that there are no losers here, today Russian martial arts have won. We are once again convinced that Russian martial arts masters are the best in the world! ” – said Kiriyenko.
This year the tournament was held in the format of interstyle fights, REN TV notes. During the fight evening on December 10, eight knockout fights were held for representatives of sambo, grappling, kudo and wushu, Kyokushin, Burmese boxing, Thai boxing and kickboxing.
Earlier on Friday, Russian mixed martial arts fighter Andrei Semyonov gave a forecast for the fight for the UFC lightweight champion belt American Dustin Poirier and Brazilian Charles Oliveira. According to him, the outcome of the fight will depend on tactics.
Poirier said on December 7 that his triumph over reigning UFC lightweight champion Oliveira was “undeniable.” In turn, the Brazilian noted that his chances of winning are extremely high.
The REN TV channel will broadcast the fight between Oliveira and Poirier. Russian TV viewers will be able to watch the match live at 2:00 (Moscow time) on December 12.
