Boateng was already in discussion with Hertha last year, but in summer 2020 he decided on the Balotelli club AC Monza. Boateng grew up at Hertha BSC and also made his Bundesliga debut in blue and white in 2005, he has now made 129 Bundesliga appearances and can also call himself DFB Cup winner.
Boateng won it in 2018 with Eintracht Frankfurt. His manager at the time: Hertha’s new sports director Bobic, who guided him to the SBU the previous summer. Boateng’s contract with AC Monza expires on June 30th, which is why he could even come to Berlin for free.
