The offer became eThe second highest price achieved of Michael Jordan sports memorabilia, behind his jersey from Game 1 of the 1998 NBA Finals from the famous “Last Dance” season, which sold for $10.1 million at Sotheby’s in September 2022.

The variety of sneakers Air Jordan, all signed by the basketball player, they had action during the 1991 games of the Bulls against the Los Angeles Lakers, the one in 1992 against the Portland Trail Blazers, the one in 1993 against the Phoenix Suns, the one in 1996 against the Seattle SuperSonics, the one in 1997 against the Utah Jazz and the 1998 one also against the Utah Jazz.

The six size 13 and 13.5 shoes were originally given to Tim Hallam, previously the Bulls’ public relations director. After selling the shoes to an anonymous buyer, they were sold to Sotheby’s.

“The record price of is a testament to the GOAT (greatest of all time),” said Brahm Wachter, director of modern collectibles at Sotheby’s.

”Without a doubt, the Dynasty Collection is among the most important compilations of sports memorabilia in history. Serving as a reminder of Michael Jordan’s lasting impact on the world and a tangible expression of his renowned legendary status, his importance is further validated by thise monumental result. “A truly incomparable moment and a milestone in auction history: the sale of these six championship-winning shoes will likely never be repeated,” Wschter said.

Sotheby’s also auctioned the Air Jordan 13 from Game 2 of the 1998 NBA Finals of Michael Jordan from the famous season “The Last Dance”, which sold for US$2.2 million in April 2023.
