Zabolotny’s double brought CSKA victory over Arsenal

CSKA football club defeated Tula Arsenal in the 18th round match of the Tinkoff Russian Premier League (RPL). The victory for the red and blue ones was brought by Anton Zabolotny’s double, according to Sport-Express on December 11.

The score of the meeting, which took place at the VEB Arena stadium, was opened by Zabolotny in the 33rd minute. After that, in the 76th minute of the match, he also converted the penalty, which he himself earned. Thus, the footballer brought his team two points, which determined the outcome of the meeting.

CSKA is currently gaining 30 points and rising to third place in the standings. Arsenal scored 19 points and took 11th position.

Earlier, on December 9, the Control and Disciplinary Committee of the Russian Football Union (FTC RFU) punished CSKA for failing to ensure security during the match with Zenit on November 28, when after the end of the meeting the fans of the red and blue lit several dozen flares. After the incident, arrests were made. The FTC explained that the football club will close the A stands for two home matches, as well as pay the imposed fines.

As a result of the arrests, 51 reports of administrative offenses were drawn up, at least 25 CSKA fans could face a ban on attending sports events in Russia.

In turn, the club’s management condemned the fans’ use of so many pyrotechnics, but stressed that innocent people should not suffer, and promised to provide legal support to their fans.
