Whoever scores the most points on Sunday will be the champion. But if they finish tied (if one is ninth and the other tenth with the best lap, that is two points each, or neither marks, finishing outside the Top 10 or leaving), Verstappen will be crowned thanks to that greater number of victories.
Mercedes and Red Bull are also competing for the constructors’ title. The German team is a favorite with 28 points of advantage and a maximum of 44 available.

An element of uncertainty is added this year: the track was modified to be faster and more conducive to overtaking.
The Formula 1 caravan will say goodbye to Finn Kimi Raikkonen (Alfa Romeo), who retires after 19 seasons, since 2001, and a world title with Ferrari in 2007.
The Finn will start eighteenth on the starting grid.
