As the “Salzburger Nachrichten” reports, Mate Delic will accompany Austria’s tennis ace Dominic Thiem on the ATP and Challenger tour in the future. Like Thiem, the Croatian is 30 years old and was also in Günter Bresnik’s academy for a few years.

As a professional, Delic had manageable success: he has a career high of number 150 on his CV. However, the 30-year-old has already made a name for himself as a coach. He led his compatriot Borna Coric back to the top of the world after his long injury break – crowned with the title at the Masters tournament in Cincinnati 2022.
An official confirmation is still pending. This week Thiem will compete in an exhibition tournament in Oslo, after which the former US Open champion will have a training block of several weeks with father Wolfgang Thiem before returning to the Challenger Tour in March in Szekesfehervar, Zadar and Naples.
