The guests from South Tyrol got off to a better start and took the lead 2-0 in the first section through McParland (8th) and Deluca (20th). Nico Lahtinen scored for the Steel Wings after a pass from Laurin Liesch and Isak Ekelund to make it 2-1 (24th). However, further good opportunities did not lead to any further goals for the Linz team. Instead, it was the Falcons who finally decided the game in the final third through Schiavone (50./pp) and Lindgren (60./pp).
“We had a short week of training, which was particularly noticeable in the explanations in the first third. But I can also take a lot of positive things out of the game. We had energy, we had legs – which became more and more evident as the game progressed – and we were willing to make up a 1: 2 deficit. Ultimately, it was also the discipline that made the game possible. We have to work on that, “said coach Philipp Lukas.
