Before the spring in the 2nd football league kicks off next Friday with the home game against FAC Vienna, the dress rehearsal for SV Guntamatic Ried will take place tomorrow: at 3 p.m. a Rieder team will play against the Bavarian regional league team Wacker Burghausen in the Klaus Roitinger Stadium At 6 p.m. there will be a second test match against Upper Austria’s third division team SPG Wels in the Innviertel Arena.
Particular attention will be paid to the second test: the Innviertel team’s supposed starting eleven will be used against Welser. This also includes Nik Marinsek: The 24-year-old Slovenian is one of the winners of the preparation. He has recommended himself for a new role: alongside Nemanja Celic, Marinsek is supposed to pull the strings in central midfield – in the autumn he was still mainly on the ball in the offensive three-man line.
The new additions Ante Bajic and Lumor Agbenyenu should also be set. Just like striker Wilfried Eza, who is fully fit again after his injury.
What’s next for Ziegl?
Captain Marcel Ziegl continues to cause a headache for the Rieders: It is uncertain whether the 31-year-old, who continues to suffer from heel and knee problems, will even put on the Rieder jersey again this season. Which of course also makes an early extension of his contract, which expires in the summer, difficult. “Now we decided what would happen next with Marcel. But we will definitely not let him go,” says Ried sports director Wolfgang Fiala.
Belmin Beganovic is due to start training again next week, and Philipp Pomer is also due to return to training in the coming weeks.
