San Lorenzo, semi-finalist of the previous Argentine Cup won by Estudiantes de La Plata, will debut today in the 2024 edition against Independiente de Chivilcoy, one of the representatives of Federal A.
The match corresponding to the 32nd round will be played at the Centenario stadium in Quilmes from 9:10 p.m. with refereeing by Daniel Zamora and transmission by TyC Sports.
The winner of the match must wait for the resolution regarding the classic that Tigre won against Chacarita (1-0) and was suspended for the attack on footballer Fernando Brandán, from “Funebrero”, who received a bottle thrown by a fan.
The “Ciclón” appears in the 2024 edition of the federal tournament after the goalless draw in the classic against Huracán, as a visitor, last Saturday for the League Cup.

San Lorenzo and Independiente de Chivilcoy will face each other for the first time in history but the Buenos Aires team has already played against other First Division teams in the Argentine Cup: in 2018 they lost 2-1 to Argentinos Juniors in the 32nd round and in 2023 they fell to the champion Estudiantes of La Plata (3-0) in the same instance.
