Micheldorf celebrates the sensation against league leaders Oedt

League leader Oedt had to admit defeat 1:2 in the opening game of Micheldorf. “If you win away at Oedt, you’ve done a lot of things right,” says Micheldorf coach Falko Feichtl with a broad grin. The leader, however, has lost his laugh: “We couldn’t build on our performance in preparation. The penalty against us was questionable, and we could have gotten two penalties,” complained Oedt sports director Gerald Baumgartner.

The botched start doesn’t change the club’s ambitions: “We want to be first with a fighting team and 1b.” And then the decision rests with President Franz Grad as to how the club proceeds…

Laughing third party?

Not only Oedt lost the first game, pursuer Dietach also started with a 1:2 home defeat against Friedburg. After the 2-1 win in Mondsee, Ostermiething is now only one point behind Dietach and two points behind leader Oedt. Do you even become the laughing third party? “We want to continue to offer refreshing football. Basically, I don’t think we can intercept Oedt over 30 rounds,” says Ostermiething coach Christoph Mühllechner. Compared to Oedt, however, you would definitely tackle the climb.

“The club has to decide”

For the regional football league team SPG Wels, their dream of promotion was probably dashed after the first spring game. “For the first time under my direction we didn’t bring our game onto the pitch,” said coach Emin Sulimani after the 1:3 defeat against bottom team WAC Amateure. His team even led.

The Welsers are now nine points behind league leaders Voitsberg (3:1 in Weiz) – are they now also thinking about his person? Sulimani: “I’m not concerned with that. It’s up to the club to decide. But so far I’ve won more than I’ve lost.”
