The triumph of Bernardo Llaver in the second final of the TC2000 at the Concordia racetrack was a historic event. The victory achieved by the Mendoza rider in the opening of the season is the first for the Japanese brand on the Entre Rios track.

The 36-year-old native of the town of San Martín, who took pole position in Saturday’s qualifying round, dominated from the start and recorded a time of 31m. 49s. 442/1000 to travel the 18 laps of the requirement.

Llaver, who had finished second in the first race of the day, led by 1s. 499/1000 to the current champion, Leonel Pernía from Tandil (Renault Fluence), who won the initial final.

The third position corresponded to Damián Fineschi (Chevrolet Cruze) from Quilm, who had reached the same position in the inaugural race and reached 17s. 245/1000.

Further back in the standings of the second final came Franco Vivian (Honda Civic), Marcelo Ciarrocchi (Toyota), and Matías Capurro (Renault Fluence).

The Buenos Aires native Matías Rossi (Toyota), on his return to the division, could not start the second definition due to an engine problem.

For TC2000, this weekend’s visit to Concordia was number 12 in history. The first was on August 9, 1981 with victory for Jorge Omar Del Rio with a VW 1500 on the 3,120 meter circuit. The last presentation was on May 1, 2022 where the category used the 4,700 meter long route for the first time and it was the official Chevrolet team that achieved a resounding “1-2” with Agustín Canapino and Llaver. Matías Milla completed the podium on that occasion.

The next date of TC 2000 will be Sunday, April 14 at the Oscar and Alfredo Gálvez racetrack in Buenos Aires.
