On Sunday, FC Blau-Weiß Linz ends its first regular season in the Bundesliga with the away game against bottom team Lustenau. It will also be decided what lead coach Gerald Scheiblehner’s team will have in the qualifying group to tackle the mission of staying in the league. If you win, you would still be eight points ahead of Vorarlberg after the points are divided, but if you lose you would only be four points ahead.
Striker Ronivaldo, of all people, could be missing against his former club: The 34-year-old recently suffered a laceration above his eye against Vienna Austria and had to receive eight stitches. Training has been out of the question since then. “Because the injury is just above the eye, he couldn’t even open the affected eye recently,” says BW coach Gerald Scheiblehner.
Nevertheless, the 47-year-old doesn’t give up hope that his attacker will play in the country: “If anyone can play, it’s Roni.”
Ronivaldo is not the only kicker who is currently unable to take part in training: Julian Gölles, Marcel Schantl and Alexander Briedl also did not take part in today’s session.
