The fight for the final in the 1st ÖFB Futsal League couldn’t be more exciting – and with FC Diamant Linz and FC Ljuti Krajisnici, a duo from the steel city is right in the middle of it instead of just there.

In the best-of-three semi-final series between Diamant Linz and Klagenfurt as well as Ljuti Krajisnici and Stella Rossa the score is 1:1, which means the decision will be made in the third duel on Sunday. “The motto is: win or fly. We have to go to the limit again and will be 100 percent focused in a hopefully full hall,” says Diamant sports director Sanid Salai before the home game in the SHS Kleinmünchen (3 p.m.).

The situation is more difficult with Linz’s city rivals, who have only been represented in the futsal upper house since last season. Away from the reigning vice-champions Stella Rossa (Sporthalle Südstadt, 4 p.m.), the Linzers are also fighting for a possible Linz derby for the championship title in the final.

Between the lawn and the hall

For some kickers, the weekend will be doubly challenging: The Edelweiss kickers Kenan Ramic and Saldin Pezic will be on the pitch in the Upper Austrian League in Micheldorf tomorrow and will be in action at the futsal club Ljuti Krajisnici in the hall on Sunday. “It’s not ideal because they have a load every day. Edelweiss proceeds naturally, but there are no overlaps. We accept that,” says Edelweiss coach Stefan Kuranda.
