Stuttgart’s coach praises the winger highly after his dream goal against Union Berlin. Führich should play a role in the plans for the upcoming international matches, says Hoeneß.
Coach Sebastian Hoeneß from VfB Stuttgart sees a good chance of being called up to the national team again for his winger Chris Führich. The 26-year-old “proved once again that he belongs in the considerations” in the Swabians’ 2-0 (1-0) win against 1. FC Union Berlin, said Hoeneß. Führich decided the Bundesliga game with a wonderful shot into the right corner in the 65th minute. It was his seventh league goal this season.
Führich plays “very consistently,” said Hoeneß. “It’s great for him and great for us.” The offensive man, who has already prepared seven goals, now has to stick with it. “We have to wait and see what happens to the national team,” said the VfB coach. “But I think he’s increased his chances even more.”
Next Thursday, national coach Julian Nagelsmann will name his squad for the international matches against France (March 23) and the Netherlands (March 26). Führich made his debut for the national team in October against the USA (3-1). He is one of the top performers at Bundesliga third-placed Stuttgart this season.
