The game got off to a very bad start for the young Linz team – they had to accept the 0-1 lead by Marton Nadasy in the sixth minute of the game, even though they had two good shot opportunities beforehand but couldn’t get the shot past goalie Krisztian Erdei. But it got even worse: almost exactly ten minutes after the first goal, Ujpest celebrated again. Nadasy served Barnabas Loczl, who scored 2-0 in the majority.
In the middle section, the Linzers started an attack, but the goal was unsuccessful. Neither in the majority, nor in 5-on-5 – Erdei’s goal was locked. At times the young home team seemed a bit too playful, at times the Hungarians simply defended themselves extremely strongly. And that despite the fact that around 600 spectators were seated in the stands of the Linz AG ice arena. The atmosphere was great and worthy of a junior final.
In the final third the picture of the game changed little – Linz was committed but unlucky. As the shutout for Krisztian Erdei was getting closer and closer, Ferenc Laskawy redeemed the guests with a 3-0 victory with an Emtpy-Netter (60′). The next game will take place tomorrow afternoon at 4:15 p.m. With a win, the Linzers would be crowned U20 champions. In the event of a defeat, we would go into an all-important Game 5 in Budapest.
