The State Duma adopted the draft law on the introduction of Fan ID in the III reading

At a meeting on Friday, December 17, the State Duma adopted in the third and final reading a bill that envisages the introduction of Fan ID passports for sports fans. Amendments were made to the Federal Law “On Physical Culture and Sports in the Russian Federation” regarding the introduction of a spectator identification system.

According to the draft law, the concept of “personalized card for visiting a sports competition” is being introduced. Spectators of the competition will need to receive an electronic document that will identify the fan.

The Russian government will determine a list of “official sports competitions, when attending which the identification and authentication of spectators, participants in an official sports competition, and other persons involved in the conduct of such competitions are mandatory.”

The sale of entrance tickets will be carried out with a valid personalized card.

It is reported that a citizen will be able to send an application for a “fan passport” through the portal of public services.

The law should come into force on June 1, 2022.

On November 8, the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture and Sports supported the bill on the introduction of a spectator identification system, the newspaper “Sport-Express” wrote. It was noted that additional services at the stadium will be available to holders of personalized cards.
