2nd League: High-scoring games: Schalke receives a slap at Hertha

HSV fights its way back to the relegation place in the 2nd league. A heavy defeat in Berlin increases FC Schalke’s misery again.

17 goals in three games – the 2nd Bundesliga offered plenty of spectacle. In a turbulent game, Hertha BSC increased the Revierclub’s worries by winning 5:2 (3:2) against FC Schalke 04.

After two games without defeat, Schalke is once again threateningly close to the relegation zone. Only two points separate coach Karel Geraerts’ team from relegation place 16. Schalke showed worrying individual errors defensively.

Things went better again for Hamburger SV. Coach Steffen Baumgart’s team defeated SV Wehen Wiesbaden 3-0 (1-0) and moved past Fortuna Düsseldorf into third place. The people of Hamburg showed significant improvement.

The biggest win of the day was celebrated by Karlsruher SC, who beat 1. FC Magdeburg 7-0 (4-0), but encountered little resistance. As a result, KSC, in seventh place in the middle of the table, increased the gap to Magdeburg in twelfth place to seven points.
