Daniel Oberkofler and Kevin Moderer – the two Styrians played together for the Black Wings in Linz for years – are ÖEL champions! Just a year after ending their careers in last season’s pre-playoffs in the Graz 99ers’ uniform, against the Black Wings of all teams, the two are back at the top together. This time in the third highest league for Kapfenberger SV.

In the second leg, the Styrians maintained their three-goal lead from the first leg in Hohenems in front of 3,200 spectators in the Kapfenberg town hall. After Oberkofler had already scored in the first leg, the Graz team prepared the opening goal for the Styrian Kangaroos through Christoph Draschkowitz. The score was 2-0 before the break. Just four minutes later, Oberkofler made it 3-0 himself.

But Hohenems came back into the game. After a double strike within three minutes, Benjamin Kyllönen equalized the game to 3-3 in the 33rd minute. The final third brought a goal on both sides, meaning Kapfenberg was crowned champion with a total score of 8:5.

In addition to Moderer and Oberkofler, there were two other ex-Black Wings cracks on the Hohenems side: Marcel Wolf and Martin Grabher-Meier.
