After 12.5 km, she was 25.6 seconds behind the French winner Lou Jeanmonnot after a shooting error. Gandler’s previous top results were sixth place. Janina Hettich-Walz (GER/+11.9/1) and Gilonne Guigonnat (FRA/+15.8/1) came second and third respectively.
With flawless performances in the prone shooting, Gandler worked his way up to sixth place and held on to this despite a penalty loop caught in the first standing shooting. When the shooter, who had already been a confident shooter, was all fired up during her last visit to the shooting range, she entered the final phase in fourth place, but was overtaken by the well-known fast runner Justine Braisaz-Bouchet. The Frenchwoman had four shooting errors, but was only 22.1 seconds behind Jaenmonnot. But Gandler also showed that she can now keep up with running well.

With her fourth success of the season in the overall World Cup, Jeanmonnot worked her way up to second place ahead of the Norwegian Ingrid Landmark Trandrevold, who this time was only eighth on the day, but Lisa Vitozzi could no longer be caught at the front. The Italian made do with 21st place in the 30-strong field with five shooting errors, which left her 23 points ahead of Jeanmonnot in the final score. After a good final World Cup phase, Gandler came in 19th overall, while her closer compatriot Lisa Hauser finished the season in 33rd position.
The mass start competition over 15 km for men, which concludes the World Cup winter, is scheduled for 10:20 p.m. CET in Canmore, for which no Austrian has qualified. Gandler was in complete contrast, the 22-year-old came sixth in Canmore on Thursday and Saturday.
