Norwegian biathlete Andersen won the first medal at the World Cup

Norwegian biathlete Philip Fjeld Andersen won his first medal at the World Cup in Annecy, France. It is reported on Friday, December 17, “Sport-Express”.

The 22-year-old biathlete finished third in the ten-kilometer sprint race with two firing lines, behind the Norwegian Johannes Boe and the Russian Eduard Latypov.

At the finish line, Andersen was 18.2 seconds behind Boe, despite the fact that he did not make a single mistake.

Prior to this bronze medal, the athlete’s best result was ninth place in the sprint at the first stage of the World Cup in Ostersund, Sweden. Then Andersen lost 49.1 seconds to the winner of the race Sebastian Samuelsson, shooting clean at all lines.

In other personal races, Andersen did not even make the top 30.

On Saturday, December 18, the men’s and women’s pursuit races will be held as part of the World Cup stage in Annecy.

On December 12, the Russian men’s biathlon team took third place in the relay at the World Cup in Hochfilzen. The Russian national team was represented by Vasily Tomshin, Daniil Serokhvostov, Alexander Loginov and Eduard Latypov. The Norwegians came first to the finish line, the French were the second.
