“Austria instead of Australia” for Bad Ischl’s Filip Halgos

“Austria instead of Australia” for Bad Ischl’s Filip Halgos

Halgo returnees and Bad Ischl’s President Zeppetzauer (Hörm)

In the 2-1 win against ASK St. Valentin at the weekend, the 26-year-old Slovakian underlined his importance for the team from the Salzkammergut and was the man of the game with two goals.

After a long journey, the offensive player apparently feels most at home in the imperial city – as does Bad Ischl’s sports director Johann Roitmayer reveals: “He’s been trying to find happiness for practically his entire football career. I think he’s finally found it now.” Halgos has had difficult months: the prospect of studying in Australia and a new start in football down under was too tempting in the summer. “Unfortunately, everything that could have gone wrong went wrong,” says Roitmayer. In the last few months everything turned out differently: “The study didn’t work out properly, and the chance of a professional club didn’t come true either. Instead, he commuted to work and back home for three hours every day.”

Which is why Halgos contacted his former club in the winter and asked for another chance. The club struck – and now hopes that the Slovakian magic mouse will make the difference, like in St. Valentin.

Birthday victory

The Friedburg coach also celebrated a special victory Ernst Öbster: His team gave him a 2-1 away win at SPG Wels 1b for his 40th birthday. Despite the 2:3 defeat against Micheldorf, the Pregarten coach was also allowed to do so Dominik Nimmervoll happy: He had to leave the sports field shortly before kick-off because his son was born. Brother Rainer Nimmervoll represented him.
