Boca will play in the 2024 Copa Sudamericana and is one of the strongest candidates in the group. However, the first phase will not be easy for those led by Diego Martínez since they will have to face in Group D Brazil Fortress, National Potosi, in the height of Bolivia and Sportivo Trinidense from Paraguay.
The Conmebol conducted the draw for the group stage of the Copa Sudamericanain an edition of the international competition that will have Mouth as one of the main protagonists along with Racing, Lanús, Defensa y Justicia, Argentinos Juniors and Belgrano de Córdoba.
“Xeneize” will share Group D with the current runner-up, Fortaleza, who was drawn for C but could not face Inter because they are both from Brazil, Nacional Potosí (Bolivia) – they play at home at almost 4,000 meters above sea level – and Sportivo Trinidense (Paraguay).
On the side of Racing, will integrate the H together with Coquimbo Unidos (Chile), Sportivo Luqueño (Paraguay) and Red Bull Bragantino (Brazil), in another quite complicated area.
Lanús, for its part, will be seeded in the G, which completes it Metropolitans (Venezuela), Cuiabá (Brazil) and Deportivo Garcilaso (Peru).
Defense and Justice will clash in the first instance of the contest with Independiente Medellín (Colombia), Universidad César Vallejo (Peru) and Always Ready (Bolivia) in A, while Belgrano will play in C with Internacional (Brazil), Defín (Ecuador) and Real Tomayapo (Bolivia).
Finally, Argentinos Juniors will face Corinthians (Brazil), Racing (Uruguay) and Nacional (Paraguay) in the F, in another tough area.
The group stage will be played between April 3 and May 29 and later the playoffs will begin, where the second in each group will face the third in the Copa Libertadores zones, on July 17 and 24.
Afterwards, the heads-up will start on August 14 and will last until the 21st of the same month for the round of 16, while the quarterfinals will be between September 18 and 25.
Meanwhile, the semifinals will be played between October 23 and 30 and the final will be on November 23.
The Argentine teams that have already won the Copa Sudamericana are the following: San Lorenzo (1), River (1), Boca (2), Arsenal (1), Independiente (2), Lanús (1), Defensa y Justicia ( 1).
