The men’s last race in downhill or super-G was on February 18th in Kvitfjell, almost five weeks ago. Just 14 speed competitions have been possible so far in 2023/24 – all of which took place within just two months.
“Our season was really difficult. It started in mid-December and was actually finished in mid-February. If you have a cross-country run for two weeks, then five races are gone”said Vincent Kriechmayr, who was sixth in the first training session for the downhill on Sunday – 1.4 seconds behind the best time of Stefan Rogentin (Sui). In the women’s category, Cornelia Hütter, who still has a chance of winning a crystal ball, was third. Kira Weidle (D) set the best time.
