Russian biathlete Kristina Reztsova finished third in the 12.5 km mass start at the fourth stage of the World Cup in Annecy, France on Sunday, December 19.
The first to finish was Swedish athlete Elvira Eberg. She covered the distance in 35 minutes 21.7 seconds, having two penalties on four firing lines.
The winner of the silver medal was the Frenchwoman Julia Simon. She was 10.7 seconds behind the leader with two penalties. At a distance, the Russian biathlete Reztsova made two mistakes. As a result, she was 12.1 seconds behind the winner.
The stage will end on Sunday with the men’s 15 km mass start.
Earlier that day, the Russian biathlon team won the mixed relay (4×6 km) at the IBU Cup stage in Obertilliach, Austria.
Anastasia Shevchenko, Anastasia Goreeva, Nikita Porshnev and Maxim Tsvetkov became the winners of gold medals. They covered the distance without penalties, using six extra rounds across eight firing lines.
