Alexander Zverev is in the semi-finals of the Masters tournament in Miami. Fabian Marozsan from Hungary has no chance against the Olympic champion.
Tennis professional Alexander Zverev has reached the semi-finals of the Masters tournament in Miami. The Olympic champion from Hamburg beat Fabian Marozsan from Hungary 6:3, 7:5.
The 26-year-old, fifth in the world rankings, had slight problems at the beginning with the outsider who was two years younger, but Zverev still converted his first match point after 1:37 hours to win the round of the top eight.
“I love Miami, I’ve always said that. I’m happy to get this far in a tournament again and play against the best in the world,” said Zverev: “I’m looking forward to the next challenge.”
In the fight for a place in the final in the US state of Florida, the German will now face the winner of the match between the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz and the Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov. Alcaraz is number one, Zverev is fourth. In 2018, Zverev had already reached the final in Miami, but had to admit defeat there.
In the second semi-final, defending champion Daniil Medvedev from Russia will face South Tyrolean Jannik Sinner.
