The NBA breaks attendance record in 2023-2024, with 22.5 million viewers

The United States Basketball League closed its 78th regular season last Sunday, in which an average of 18,324 attendees per game was reached, exceeding the average of 18,077 people in the 2022-2023 season.

The NBA broke the attendance record in the regular season of this season that ended last Sunday, with a total record of 22.5 million viewers added, 1.4% more than last year.

The American basketball competition closed its 78th regular season last Sunday, in which a average of 18,324 attendees per game, exceeding the average of 18,077 people for the 2022-2023 academic year. Tickets were sold out for 873 games, 71% of the total, surpassing last year’s marks of 791 games with the poster of sold out63% of the total.

NBA teams filled their stadiums to 98% capacity this season, another all-time high. Twelve franchises sold out all their games. Among them are clubs such as: Boston Celtics, Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers, among others.

For its part, Minnesota Timberwolves entered this select ranking for the first time and sold out tickets this season. Their attendance increased 7.5%, the fourth highest increase after the Oklahoma City Thunder with a 12.3% increase in people attending the Paycom Center this year.

The NBA recorded its own record of income derived from agreements with its sponsors in 2022-2023, up to $1.66 billion. Specifically, the most important sponsorship agreements were those reached by the competition with Sorare and Hisense , as well as the union between the Chicago Bulls and Motorola, and the San Antonio Spurs and Self Financial.
