The 2:3 loss to relegation candidate Bochum caused a lot of trouble for the Hoffenheim team – especially between the TSG professionals and their fans.
The 2:3 at VfL Bochum caused a lot of anger between fans and players at TSG Hoffenheim. While the TSG supporters apparently made their displeasure known quite aggressively on Friday evening after the defeat against the relegation candidate, the Bundesliga professionals did not want to just let their frustration go to them. “99 percent (of fans) don’t understand football, there’s no need to talk about it. Of course I was a little angry at that moment,” said double goalscorer Andrej Kramaric on DAZN after the streaming service showed him gesticulating angrily towards the visitors’ block.
“The fans were disappointed, which is basically okay. I expect them to change somewhere because we were almost relegated last year and are playing a much better round this year than last year,” explained TSG goalkeeper Oliver Baumann : “It was a little emotional, on their part, on our part. And we’ll leave it at that for now.”
Away disadvantage
Kramaric also attributed the defeat to the hot atmosphere in the Bochum stadium. As an away team it is difficult to play in such conditions. The fans should also understand this, said the striker. The 2:3 reduces Hoffenheim’s chances of taking part in the European Cup. Instead of taking seventh place, at least temporarily, TSG remains in ninth place.
