The Dallas Mavericks have a promising place in the current basketball playoffs. A groundbreaking decision has now been made early on for the future.
Dirk Nowitzki’s former teammate Jason Kidd has extended his contract as basketball coach of the Dallas Mavericks for the long term. National player Maxi Kleber’s team announced that the 51-year-old Kidd had signed for several years. The Mavs did not announce an exact term.
Kidd, a coach in Dallas since 2021, had secured the Mavericks’ only championship in the North American professional league NBA in 2011 as a player together with Nowitzki.
In the current playoffs, Dallas led by star player Luka Doncic recently won 4-2 against the Los Angeles Clippers. Starting Wednesday (3:30 a.m. CEST), the best-of-seven series against the Oklahoma City Thunder will be fought for a place in the Western Conference finals.
