David Alaba sees himself in Real Madrid’s central defense alongside Raphael Varane. The Austrian would be happy if the French stayed.
David Alaba (29) made it clear when he presented to Real Madrid that he hopes to be on the pitch next to Raphael Varane for the Spaniards in the coming season. “Of course I would like to play with Varane,” said the Austrian.
Change rumors have been rumored about Varane, who still has a contract with Los Blancos until 2022. Manchester United in particular is closely associated with the 2018 world champions, and an official offer from England for Varane is expected in the coming days.
Real Madrid – Alaba praises Varane: “exceptional skills”
The fact that Varane is coveted by a top club comes as no surprise to Alaba: “He has played excellent football for years, not just recently,” said Real’s newcomer from FC Bayern. “He’s a great defender and has exceptional skills,” added Alaba.
Alaba moved from Bayern to Madrid on a free transfer this summer. Varane came to the Spanish capital in 2011 at the age of 18 from RC Lens.
