“Andreas Kristler was a big factor for us last year. After a few injuries, he slipped into a different role and exceeded all our expectations,” says Philipp Lukas about the 33-year-old striker. The East Tyrolean native finished the past season with nine goals and 19 assists. The 18th professional season was the fourth best in terms of points of his career.
In total, Kristler has played 766 games in the highest Austrian league, in which he scored 307 points. “I’m very happy that I can stay in Linz for another year and I’m very proud that I’ve been here for the eighth year. It’s a great honor for me to put on this jersey,” says the young dad.

At the age of 16, Kristler made his debut in the professional team at EC VSV in 2006. In 2011, the striker moved to Salzburg, where he finally established himself in the domestic league in seven years. He also won two championship titles with the Red Bulls in 2015 and 2016 before finding his new home in the steel city a year later. The crowd favorite also represented his home country in more than 70 international matches with the Austrian national team and was on the ice at two A World Championships.
