The German national team has moved into its first training camp in Blankenhain, Thuringia. Until Friday, it will be staying at the luxurious “Spa & Golf Resort Weimarer Land” and will complete its first training sessions there in preparation for the European Championship. So far, national coach Julian Nagelsmann only has a core squad of 13 professionals and two goalkeepers at his disposal. The injured Leroy Sané, Jamal Musiala, Aleksandar Pavlovic and David Raum did not take part in the first public training session, as they did the day before.
National team still partly plays in the Champions League
The Dortmund players are also missing because they are playing in the Champions League final on June 1st. The same goes for Toni Kroos and Antonio Rüdiger from Real Madrid. Leverkusen players Jonathan Tah, Robert Andrich and Florian Wirtz are on holiday after the cup final on Saturday. They will all join the DFB team in the next few days.
On May 31, the national team will move into the team base camp in Herzogenaurach. In the final international matches before the start of the European Championships at home, Germany will face Ukraine in Nuremberg on June 3 and Greece in Mönchengladbach on June 7.
