Incident in the Champions League final at London’s Wembley Stadium: Right at the start of the match, several streakers stormed onto the pitch and caused a break in play. BVB professional Sabitzer helped to wrestle one of the men down.
Because four streakers ran onto the pitch at London’s Wembley Stadium in quick succession, the Champions League final between Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid on Saturday evening was interrupted after just 21 seconds. The stewards in the stadium caught each of them and even prevented a fifth spectator from jumping over one of the advertising boards and running onto the pitch. The game in front of 90,000 spectators was able to continue in the 3rd minute.
Marcel Sabitzer is deployed as a security guard
The TV images showed only two of the young men storming across the pitch. Dortmund player Marcel Sabitzer helped to wrestle one of them down after the stewards were unable to catch the man. The other managed to jump back into the stands, where he visibly celebrated with pride. Other spectators did not find this funny and cursed the young man, who had previously taken a selfie on the pitch.
