Nepryaeva won bronze (+30.5), silver went to Ebba Andersson of Sweden (+18.2). Finnish Kerttu Niskanen became the winner of the race (27: 04.0).
In addition, Russians Yulia Stupak and Tatiana Sorina took seventh and eighth places, respectively.
The day before, the Norwegian skier Johannes Klebo won the freestyle sprint race at the first stage of the Tour de Ski. The second came the representative of France, Richard Jouve, and the third – another Frenchman, Luca Shanava. Russians Alexander Terentyev and Gleb Retivykh could not overcome the semifinal stage.
According to the results of the previous race, which took place in January, the victory was won by the Russian athlete Alexander Bolshunov. The year before, he had won the Tour de Ski overall classification for the first time in his career. Then he jokingly promised Klebo to pour vodka before the start of the race.
The Tour de Ski is part of the World Cup, which includes mass starts, pursuit and time trial, which are run in both classic style and free.
