The basketball players of Bayern Munich have taken a big step towards the title. But they had to work hard again to achieve their second victory.
Bayern Munich is just one win away from winning the Basketball Bundesliga title. The Munich team beat arch-rivals Alba 67:63 (31:28) in Berlin’s Uber Arena and took a 2:1 lead in the best-of-five series.
The best scorer in front of 11,321 spectators was world champion Andreas Obst with 14 points. Matt Thomas scored 17 points for Alba.
Game four will take place again in Berlin on Friday at 6 p.m. (Dyn). In a possibly necessary fifth final on Sunday, Bayern would again have home advantage, as Munich finished the main round as league leaders. It would be Bayern’s first championship in five years. They have already won the cup this year.
