The Olympic Village of Paris 2024 It will have facilities for families and a space dedicated “to the mental health of athletes,” the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced on Wednesday.
Installation “will not offer childcare service”, but rather “a play space conducive to the creation of family bonds”which can be reserved “during an individual or shared time slot,” the organization indicated.
“Many athletes must reconcile their sporting career with family life,” said former Finnish hockey player Emma Terho, president of the IOC athletes’ commission.
“I know what it feels like, having participated in the 2014 Winter Olympics as a mother of a child,” she added.

“Pregnancy and motherhood should not mean the end of a career for female athletes,” defended Terho on one of the favorite topics in recent times in international sporting events.
In addition, the Olympic Village will include “a space that will allow athletes and their environment to listen to their emotions and to equip themselves with a psychological plan”announced the IOC.
“No problem will be insignificant” for the members of that unit, he added.
The Olympic Village is located in the towns of Saint-Ouen and Saint-Denis, on the northern outskirts of Paris.
